Sorry, Kingsbridge, we’re not getting a Poundland, just yet.

Rumours of a Poundland store coming to Kingsbridge have been flying around for several months, with some residents speculating that Peacocks or the old Quay Pub building would house the budget store.

Other residents have even spotted job adverts, with one resident more recently stumbling across this Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/PoundlandKINGSBRIDGEFORESTREET/ - which has now been removed.

A spokesperson from Poundland said: "We’re always seeking new locations for Poundland, and we’d love to come to Kingsbridge in Devon.

Just as soon as we have news to share, we will."

When asked if the Poundland Kingsbridge Fore Street Facebook page was a phishing scam the spokesperson from Poundland said: "The page was not fake, but has been taken down because there’s no agreement yet with a landlord."
