An open letter to Prime Minister Theresa May:

With reference to your remarks reported by the Yorkshire Post, February 23, 2018, can you explain to the British public how “extracting shale gas from rocks deep underground will reduce the nation’s reliance on imported energy” when the chief executive of Ineos, the industry leader in shale extraction, has made public statements that shale gas extracted in the UK by Ineos will be used, not for the aim of meeting any “national need” for a transitional fuel or energy security, but with the primary aim of producing raw material for its own petrochemical and plastics productions?

Is it not true that fracking for shale gas will have no impact whatsoever on any national energy need and that, therefore, your statement is simply misleading?
