Sebastian Dangerfield, of Inner Hope Cove, writes:

As a long-term resident of Inner Hope Cove, I felt I must write in support of the stance taken by Richard P Antwell of Khartoum Place, Kingsbridge, Letters, April 6.

We have been involved with the local community for over 30 years and fully support his views on the local council and we are, like him, not frightened to speak out.

As for the shambles propagated by the absolute shower in Totnes under the guise of the district council, I am almost lost for words.

Unless we nail our colours to the mast, we will remain the silent majority and be run over roughshod by those that we supposedly put in a position to protect and promote the interests of the majority.

We are the taxpayers that fund their extravagant actions and their superior pensions that make those of us that worked in the private sector to support and improve this country's economy take a somewhat jaded view of this parasitic minority.

I admire the editor of the paper for giving people like us the opportunity to express our views and rally the support of the community.
