I am angry, disgusted and saddened by your article Museum piece farm goes up for sale, Friday, March 9. What does the sad demise of an elderly farmer have to do with the sale of aproperty except to poke fun at a vunerable, lonely old man?

The article was not worth the paper it was written on.

Bert and Lyn were our neighbours for over 30 years, they worked hard and were good neighbours. Lyn was crippled with what he thought was arthritis and couldn’t possibly perform the gymnastics your reporter described.

As far as we know he lit his Rayburn once a week and used an electric fire for heating. His last accident took place sometime in the night and he lay in extreme pain until his friends who checked on him regularly and called an ambulance.

What is funny about that?

* Editor’s note: It was certainly not our intention to “poke fun” at Lyndon Blackler who died after falling and breaking a hip. We are sorry if you have interpreted our story in that way.
