Nick Finnemore, of Woodland View, Duporth, St Austell, Cornwall, writes: I am not given to writing on local matters outside of my home in Cornwall, but having been travelling to the Cottage Hotel in Hope for many years I am stunned to learn from other customers that the hotel might not be able to ­continue developing its offer due to potential planning issues. My family and I have always loved coming to Hope and the Cottage Hotel is an intrinsic part of the area's attraction for us, and I would hate to think of it not being there.
