This year’s Prawle Fair, held in May, raised more than £8,700 all of which has been donated to local charities and good causes.
The cheque presentations were made on Wednesday, October 17, in the Pigs Nose Inn. Chair of the Prawle Fair Committee Mike Healey thanked all who had participated in making the fair such a success this year and presented the cheques to representatives of the charities.
Charities supported this year were Devon Air Ambulance Trust, East Prawle First Responders, the Coleridge Bus, which celebrates its 40th anniversary next year, Stokenham Primary School and Merry Go Round Pre-school, The Triangle Cancer Support Centre, Start Circle of Friends Patient transport service, Chivelstone Church Restoration Fund, NCI Coastwatch, Dementia Friends in Kingsbridge and Kingsbridge Community Tennis.
As in previous years, money is also donated for the upkeep and support of Chivelstone Parish Community Hall, East Prawle Community village events, the hugely successful East Prawle Cricket Club and for East Prawle Yoga Classes equipment.
We look forward to a successful Fair in May 2019 so we can continue our support for local charities and the village community – don’t forget to come along!
