THERE was just one pin in it as Diamonds battled with Outsiders in the latest round of Totnes Skittles League matches.
Tracey Slatter led the Diamonds and Margaret Saxon was Outsiders top-scorer, both reaching 75 as Outsiders won it 266-265.
Odd Westons’ strong start wasn’t enough as they succumbed to Meadowbrooks, losing 305-283.
Angela Worth had 92 for the Odd Westons and Caitlyn Kneil had 81 for the Meadowbrooks,
It was a similar story for All Stars who won the first two ends against Gems only to fall to defeat, 289-278.
Lorraine Edmonds scored 88 for All Stars and Wendy Northway’s 90 saw her lead for Gems.
In another one-pin affair, Fordetts just about beat Alley Cats 283-282 but there was very little to separate them.
Sarah Life had 74 and Jane Hingston had 71 for the former whilst Emma Saunders had 74 and Sara Neville had 71 for the latter.
Onto the men and Steve Robinson hit 102 as his Millers side beat Woodpeckers 483-424, Paul Wakeham’s 90 the best score for Woodpeckers.
Panthers dominated the majority of their game against TRFC and this showed in the scoreline, a 446-397 win.
Matthew Monaghan (85) and Jerry Cleverdon (80) starred for Panthers and they were matched, respectively, by TRFC’s Chris Stacey and Matt Edwards.
Chris Worth had the joint highest score of the week and his 102 inspired Wizzards to a 517-435 success over the Bullets, Simon Prowse scoring 85 but coming out on the wrong side of this one.
Penultimately, consistently scoring high paid dividends for Fords who won 448-406 over Wasp. Richard Murch had 91 for the Fords, a total equalled by E. Pering of Wasp.
Last but by no means least, Wrecks pulled away late on in their back-and-forth clash with Offcuts. Fred Farleigh (91) led Wrecks whilst John Watson and Les Harding had 82 apiece for Offcuts.
