This Sunday Coronation Park plays host to the fourth edition of the Dartmouth and District T20 league finals day. It's been a fun and exciting season so far, with entertaining cricket played throughout the year and only one game interrupted by rain. The first semi-final gets under way at 11am with league winners the Taj Mahal taking on last year's finalists The Dolphin. The Taj have as expected made the finals day at the first attempt with some excellent bowling this season. It was extremely close for fourth position in the league this year between the Market House Inn and the Dolphin, so the Dolphin will hope they are hitting top form at just the right time. This is followed by four-time champions the Football Club taking on the impressive Windjammer team in the second semi-final at 2pm. The winner of these two games will contest the final game of the 2014 season at 5pm which should be an excellent game. During the afternoon the pop-up pavilion will be providing refreshments and a barbecue, kindly sponsored by Oil From The Taj Mahal, with Dean Martyn Builders sponsoring the finals day match balls. The man-of-the-match bottle of bubbly will be sponsored by Pete Foster. As always the league has many people to thank for their help throughout the season in enabling us all to play cricket . Dougie Hawkins has worked wonders on the square this year, providing consistent wickets weekly and many thanks to him for all his efforts. Chris Chase has organised all the volunteer umpires, without which all the games couldn't go ahead and many thanks to you all. Dave Britton kindly loaned the heavy roller again, which is very much appreciated. South Hams Council kindly allowed the club to use the park during the summer and the Regatta committee allowed storage of equipment in the shed. Darren Goss juggled the fixtures more than once, so to all these people the organisers wish to say thank you. Hopefully the sun will play its part in ensuring the 2014 finals day is one to remember. The matches this year have been sponsored by Chris Chase Decorating, Martyn Builders and Jodie Kitto Sports Physio. Jodie will also be present at the park offering free sample treatments to fatigued cricketers, with refreshments available from Brownies and a wonderful park for the kids to play in, it promises to be a good day for all. The league would also like to thank all eight teams for taking part in the league and making it such an enjoyable season.
