IT may be the middle of winter, but the Dartmouth and District Cricket Club are already busy making preparations for next season's T20 league.

Members are holding their AGM next Friday at 7pm upstairs in The Dolphin Inn, where they will vote in a new committee; discuss the teams involved next season; organise new rules and points system, and talk about other matters associated with the league.

Then, at 7pm on Saturday, February 18, the Dolphin will again be the venue for the club's first fundraising event of the year. The event, which will include a raffle, will feature local band Sax Appeal.

League chairman Jon Pope is also inviting community-spirited businesses to donate a small prize towards a raffle, which will pay for things like cricket balls, liability insurance for clubs, upkeep of mowers and protective equipment.

Last August, Dartmouth Amateur Football Club claimed the Steve Allen Dartmouth T20 cricket cup and champagne for the second year running after beating the Ship in Dock in the final.
