The Erme Valley endurance runners were out in force last weekend.

In the second running of the Plymouth 10K the ladies took centre stage with Alison McEwing recording 38.23 to finish 4th behind a trio of international runners and Cleo Andrews setting a new personal best time of 42.39 and finishing 2nd veteran over 40. Angie Handforth set a new pb of 48.52 and won her over 60 age group.

Some of the club went to Bideford for their 10 mile race. Jaine Swift won the ladies race with a new pb by over 2 minutes. Jaine's time was 62.02 which was a new senior club record and she also took the first veteran O40 award. Finishing with Jaine was husband Simon who recorded 61.59, another personal best.

Just behind Simon was Alison Thorn who finished 2nd lady and first veteran over 35 with a time of 65.12. Matt Brown had a good run finishing in 63.18 and Mike Woodland finished 3rd vet over 60 in 78.16. Finally Myra McKay won her veteran over 65 age group, in 88.59.

A small team also travelled to Newquay for the second Westward league cross country fixture. The conditions did not deter Will Battershill who won the U15 boys race by 35 seconds. Will was supported once again by Nathan Brown who finished 10th.

In the U13 Boys race Joe Battershill took 6th place and Joe Perry finished 15th to give the team 4th place.

In the senior men's race Allister Bristow made a welcome return and did well to finish 29th and 3rd veteran 40. Ewan Lake made his debut finishing 76th in a quality field. His younger daughter also ran in the U11 girls event.

Jayne Reed finishing 51st and 4th vet lady over 50. In the U13 girls Emily Oakshott had finished 9th from a field of 21 runners. In the U11 race Emily's sister April finished 15th and brother Sam took 30th place in the boys race.
