Point-to-Point returns to Flete Park this bank holiday weekend with the Modbury Harriers hosting their meeting this Saturday, May 4, writes Donna Harris.

With the atmosphere still buzzing after the first Flete meeting two weeks ago, the Modbury Harriers are sure to follow up on the action for all the family with pony racing heading the day's event at 1pm.

The main six-race card starts at 2pm and kicks off with the W Daniels Plant Hire Ltd-sponsored open maiden race, in which the Rosemary Partridge-trained Lord Samson could follow up on his second behind Bradley Brook at Little Windsor.

Stanley Carpets sponsor the restricted race, which could see Railway Vic follow up on his win here at the last meeting when scoring for top novice lady rider Bryony Frost.

Johnny No Cash for trainer Alice Pearn is another to consider having won his maiden in style at Milborn St Andrew 12 lengths ahead of Beady Eye.

The George Baskerville Memorial ladies' open four-mile race is one of the Aga qualifying races, with the final to be held at Stratford-On-Avon on June 7.

The open maiden 2m4f has attracted 14 entries and Gingers Reflection for trainer Christine Gray was only just denied a win here two weeks ago when chasing home Pasternak Jack, so could come back to score this time.

Thinkaboutthat could score in the final race of the day, which is the Meadowside and St Francis Care Centre-sponsored Confined, having won his intermediate at Larkhill, where this Ed Walker-trained gelding destroyed his field by 12 lengths.

Sunken Secret, trained locally by Lee Glanville, could provide daughter Pippa with her first win to follow up on her second here to Railway Vic two weeks ago.

This popular picnic track boasts a host of trade stands, bar, bookies and refreshments. Located off the A379 between Modbury and Plymouth, postcode PL21 9NX. Entrance is £10 car and driver £20 carload.
