Rink one with Betty Lowe, Anthony Hammett and skip Geoff Bulbulian controlled throughout, 11-0 at five ends, 19-3 at 10 ends, eventually winning by 29 shots to six.
Rink two comprising Don Havis, Joyce Sleightholme and skip John Yeabsley equally ruled the roost, 6-1 up at five ends, 10-4 up at 10 ends, to win by 18 shots to eight.
Rink three composed of David Weale, Mathew Hammett and skip Val Statters had a quite different encounter, leading 3-2 at five ends, 5-5 at 10 ends, before dropping some large counts over the closing ends to lose 11-16.
Rink four consisting of Betty Burgess-Allen, Tim Lewis an skip John Sherrard led all the way, 7-3 at five ends, 18-5 at 10 ends, finally winning comfortably by 29 shots to eight. This meant a win overall for the Hams by 87 shots to 38.
Devon County Indoor Bowling Association were the guests on February 26 for a men's friendly.
Rink one with Frank Senft, Tony Davies, Wilf Hutchins and skip Richard Kerswell led from the gun, 3-2 up at five ends, 9-7 at 10 ends, then ran away with it to win by 24 shots to 13.
Rink two with Dick Bond, Jim Balsdon, Eric Williams and skip John Harding trailed 2-3 at five ends but took the lead at 10 ends by eight shots to six.
Maintaining their superiority they won in the end by 22 shots to 10.
Rink three with David Amas, Don Havis, Edward Morgan and skip Chris Adams never quite got their act together, trailing 1-9 at five ends, 4-16 at 10 ends, eventually losing by 17 shots to 23.
Rink four with Richard Worsley, Roy Warnes, Geoff Corbett and skip John Brothers started well, 8-2 up at five ends and 13-7 at 10, to win a close contest by 22 shots to 19.
This meant a fine win for the Hams overall by 85 shots to 65.
South Hams visited Madeira Bowls Club in a mixed friendly on February 28. Rink one with Sylvia Williams, Richard Worsley, Eric Williams and skip Ron Elson led from the off, 10-1 up at five ends, 14-8 at 10 ends, for a comfortable win by 27 shots to 15.
Rink two of Maureen Geatches, Barbara Elson, John Fowler and skip John Yeabsley never got their act together, 0-9 down at five ends, 2-18 at 10 ends, finally being beaten by eight shots to 39.
Rink three with Rachel Brothers, Roy Warnes, Tin Lewis and skip John Brothers steadied the ship, going 6-2 up at five ends, falling 7-10 behind at 10 ends, taking control over the closing ends to win well by 27 shots to 16. This meant a loss overall by 62 shots to 70.
