THURLESTONE golfers came together on Saturday, October 31, to celebrate another action-packed year for the Dartmoor League team.
21 players teed off at this event, set up to bring everyone involved together before winter to review the season whilst also having one final opportunity for silverware.
There were some great performances from Gary Raymond, Jason Armstrong and Scott Gates, all of whom finished on 37 points, but it was the latter who came out on top via countback.
There was a small presentation outside after play, including some season highlights, notably Jason Armstrong and his achievement of winning most points for Thurlestone over the course of the season, and Nick Clayson for his 100%-win record in his league games this year.
29 individuals represented the club, including a junior for the first ever time.
Captain Lewis Kendall reports that he’d love to see those numbers continue to grow in the coming years.
He gives his sincere thanks to sponsors Wollens Solicitors for their generous support in funding the team shirts. As the team grows and the section continues to gain in popularity, our great relationship and their ongoing support will remain invaluable.
Lewis was very proud to have led this section of the club for another year and would like to give his thanks to all involved this year. It is a responsibility he thoroughly enjoyed and takes great pride in installing the excellent camaraderie into the current squad.
He looks forward to carrying on next year in the hope that it can and will only get bigger and better!

There were three birdie twos, two of which came from Julia on holes three and 13 plus Anna McGrath achieved one on the 13th.
