South Pool Pony Club got off to a flying start at the area dressage competition on Saturday, June 29, at the Royal Cornwall Showground.
This competition was a qualifier for the National Championships to be held in August at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire.
From the open team of Emily Farleigh, Charley Adams, Bex Ezra and Charley Bashford, and also individually Kaye Wotton, Emily as an associate member and Charley Adams both qualified to represent the club in Cheshire.
The club fielded two intermediate teams, with the team of Georgie Adams, Emma Adams, Tara Bashford and Meg Wood claiming first place and qualifying as a team to go to the championships.
The team of Issy Baker, Harriet Foale, Elspeth Spence and Amber Wotton secured sixth place, with Elspeth being placed third individually. The novice team of Flic Charlesworth, Morwenna Killen and Anna Wotton produced very creditable performances at their first area competition and were placed sixth in the turnout competition out of 17 teams.
The branch are looking forward to the next area show jumping competition that South Pool are hosting at Cuttery, courtesy of Mr John Bond.
