SDFL Division One

Rangers 1,

Dartmouth AFC 6

Dartmouth continued their 100 per cent winning league record with a comfortable 6-1 win away to Buckfastleigh.

Darts were always in control, and from the off looked the most likely team to dominate proceedings.

They got their rewards in the 10th minute, when good play from Karl Baker led to Mark Forrester executing a 25-yard free kick around the wall and into the corner of the net.

Dartmouth doubled their lead shortly after when the impressive Dan Broadway slipped in Baker, who slotted past the onrushing goalkeeper.

Scott Mcroy in the centre of the Dartmouth midfield created chance after chance for the forward line, and was excellent all game.

10 minutes before the break the visitors got their third, when Mark Sneap played the ball back perfectly for Broadway to lash home from close range.

Sam Davies made an excellent save to preserve the away side's lead short before the break, diving down to his right to tip the ball past the post.

It was much the same in the second period, with Dartmouth retaining possession for long periods. The back line of Thompson, Frost, Mason and Bond looked strong throughout, but against the run of play the home side capitalised on a mistake at the heart of the Dartmouth defence to reduce the deficit.

Order was resumed shortly after, when Broadway planted a Forrester corner into the roof of the net to claim his second of the match.

With 20 minutes to go, Broadway deservedly claimed his hat-trick and Dartmouth's fifth with a fine drive under the home 'keeper, with the aid of the far post.

Young Charlie Smith was sent on by manager Gary Lobb with 10 minutes remaining and instantly made an impact by rifling a volley into the top corner of the net to seal a third consecutive win in the league for the away side.

Dartmouth travel to Newton United in the Herald Cup this weekend looking to extend their good start to the season. Kick-off is at 2pm.
