Dartmouth 12,
Totnes and Dartington reserves 0
Dartmouth carried on their fine run of form with a convincing 12-0 win over mid-table Totnes and Dartington.
The game started at a frantic pace, with the visitors having the better of the opening exchanges.
Goalkeeper Sam Davies had to make several saves from the Totnes winger, who tormented the Dartmouth defence throughout.
To combat this early Totnes pressure, managers Chick and Gary Lobb decided to alter the team's formation, which paid dividends immediately.
Left midfielder Mark Sneap played the ball into Karl Baker and received the return ball to smash in from close range.
This gave Dartmouth the impetus to push for the second goal, but luckily for the home side defender Jordan Frost made a crucial intervention after the away side attacked on the break.
It was soon 2-0 when a ball from Dan Broadway found Baker, who rounded the 'keeper with ease before slotting in from six yards.
Just before the half-time whistle, Broadway made it three with the aid of the Totnes defender, who diverted past the unfortunate goalkeeper.
Although the home side went into the break with a comfortable lead, it certainly could have been a different story had Totnes converted their chances.
The second half brought about a much more dominant Dartmouth performance, which saw Sneap complete his hat-trick with two well-worked goals.
Spike Bond grabbed his second of the season with a delightful curling strike before Broadway and Baker doubled their tally for the day with some clinical finishing.
Substitute Mark Forrester made the scoreline ten with a trademark free kick in front of the clubhouse end after Richie Baker was hauled down on the edge of the box.
Soon after, captain Kevin Causley found himself on the scoresheet after dispatching a header into the roof of the net, and it was Forrester again who finished the scoring with a strike from outside the box.
Dartmouth will be pleased with this result, especially with the manner in which they kept a first clean sheet in the league.
Dartmouth reserves went down 2-1 at Ilsington Villa in their division four clash, and drop to ninth in the league. Chris Hooper scored the Dartmouth goal.
This week both sides are in cup action.
The first team travel to Premier Division side Loddiswell Athletic in the last 16 of the Herald Cup, and the reserves are also away to Totnes and Dartington third team in the quarter finals of the Fred Hewings Cup. Both kick-offs are 2pm.
