Kingsbridge and Salcombe ended their 2013-2014 season by winning the league and winning the Devon Trophy. Training has begun for the new season and the team is looking to be competitive in the higher south league. To add an extra boost to early training, the Great Britain player Giselle Ansley took the players through their paces. This was a fast-paced session, looking at new skills and taking them forward into a match situation. KS now have four more training sessions until their first league game, where the pressure and intensity will be increased. If you are inspired to play, played at school and want to get back into hockey or just want to have fun and get fit, then club training is for you. Club training will be starting again on Thursday, September 18, 6.30pm–7.15pm at Kingsbridge Community College. This session is aimed at players from Year 8 through to adults to develop skills and improve fitness, with the opportunity of being invited to join the double-winning ladies' first team. For the younger players, Year 3 to Year 7, Junior training starts on Thursday, September 25, from 6pm – 6.45pm. This will be a fun session to introduce the game of hockey to boys and girls, develop skills and hopefully get them excited about the game of hockey. If you would like any further information about the training sessions, then please email [email protected]">[email protected] or telephone 07772 212196. Otherwise, just come along and have a go.
