South Hams Bowls Club took on the Neath Tourists over three days last weekend, starting on Friday afternoon, which saw two rinks winning and two rinks losing but South Hams winning overall 57-54.

Rink one with D Weale, A Sherlock M Anderson and skip D Sherlock won 12 -11.

Rink two of S Willi­ams, W Rogers, V Rog­ers and skip T Edwards lost 15-20.

Rink three comprising M Hammett, A Da­vies, P Janes and skip I Yeabley went down 13-17.

Rink four consisting of J Foster, T Lewis, R Worsley and skip A Elliott took victory 17-6.

Saturday saw South Hams losing by 10 overall, with the score 57-67.

Rink one comprising A Elliott, M Morgan, T Lewis and skip J Fowl­er won by 20 shots to 10. Rink two with B Lowe, J Foster, S Shaw and skip J Harding lost 9-20. Rink three of V Harding, W Hutchins, L Crutchley and skip A Hammett claimed a 17-15 win. Rink four consisting of B Elson, B Welham, R Elson and skip J Yeabsley lost out 11-22.

Sunday saw South Hams winning overall by 35 points, leaving the score for Sunday 72-37.

Rink one of S Willi­ams, P Martin, N Cox and skip E Williams won 29-3. Rink two consisting of J Senft, B Lowe, F Senft and skip J Yeabs­ley lost by 10 shots to 13. Rink three comprising R Brothers, M Gel­dard, M Mitchel­more and skip B Geld­ard were defeated 14-18. Rink four with D Lyon, A Elliott, G Cor­bett and skip J Brothers took the win 19-5.

The club wishes to thank Neath for coming back for three great days of bowls and also thank the entire South Hams crowd for making it easy for the club to fill the fixture.

To help celebrate 18 years of your club being open, members are holding an open evening on Wednes­day, October 28, 6pm-10pm.

Everyone is welcome, of any age, to come along to the Quayside Leisure Cen­tre in Kings­bridge and try the sport of bowls free of charge.
