SOUTH Hams Indoor Bowls Club had a variety of fixtures during the past couple of weeks. On November 28, the men met Cornwall IBA.
Rink one with Tony Davies, Tim Lewis, Eric Williams and skip Richard Kerswell lost 15 shots to 25.
Rink two of Richard Worsley, David Dain, Bill McKimm and skip Chris Adams went down 13 shots to 24. Rink three comprising Wilf Hutchins, Charlie Dunton, David Sherlock and skip John Brothers won well, 28 shots to 11.
Rink four with John Sims, Don Havis, Tony Dore and skip John Fowler had a closer encounter to lose 15 shots to 18. This was a win overall by 71 shots to 68.
On December 3, the Retired Civil Servants were the visitors. Rink one with Don Havis, Tony Davies, John Sims and skip John Fowler ran away with it from the start to win by 35 shots to five.
Rink two of Richard Worsley, Tim Lewis, Tony Laurence and skip Eric Williams won well, 21 shots to 12.
Rink three with Matt Hammett, Carson Foster, Tony Dore and skip Chris Adams won a tight game 21 shots to 18.
Rink four with David Dain, Charlie Dunton, Bill Mckimma nd skip Richard Kerswell ruled the roost throughout to win 27 shots to 10. Overall this was a win by 104 shots to 45.
On December 5, local rivals Kingsbridge Park were the visitors. Rink one with Eric Williams, Miles Grindrod, Tim Lewis and skip Geoff Bulbulian went down eight shots to 23.
Rink two comprising Trevor Edwards, David Weale, Matt Hammett and skip Wilf Hutchins won 20 shots to 16.
Rink three with Don Havis, John Sherrard, David Fox and skip John Fowler won 21 shots to 17.
Rink four with Richard Worsley, Roy Warnes, David Dain and skip Jim Balsdon 19 shots to 12. Overall a draw 68 shots each.
December 12 saw Devon Patrons as the visitors in a ladies match. Rink one with Jan Senft, Maureen Geatches and skip?Lesley Crutchley fought out a draw, 18 shots all.
Rink two with Aneela Sherlock, Pat Scarfe and skip Anita Elliot just went down 17 shots to 19.
Rink three with Val Harding, Viv Rogers and skip Pat Janes kept their noses in front to win 17 shots to 14. A close win for the Hams by 52 shots to 51.
The men had two matches in the interclub competition on November 19, they played Mid Devon, picking up six league points. On December 6 they met Kingsley but lost on all rinks, picking up no points.
