Pat and Dave Renaud from Kingsbridge have been taken on to manage and coach the English junior surfing team.
'We are really pleased and excited to support and develop surfing in the UK. The junior division is so important to the future of UK surfing.' It would be great to one day have a British world surfing champion.'
The team will be travelling to Lacanau, France, to compete in the European Junior Surfing Championships on September 8-16. 'It was difficult to choose the team, as there are a lot of really talented junior surfers in the UK.'
'We are confident we have chosen a strong team, of surfers from all over the country, which will produce some good results. '
This is a high-profile event on the junior surfing calendar with 14 countries competing for team and individual positions. This event is held every two years, with England hoping to improve on their fourth-placed finish in 2010.
'We are desperately looking for sponsorship to help fund the team to the event and help with team clothing.
'It is unfortunate that an English junior surfing team has to self -fund, as there is no funding available.'
The English Surfing Federation is run entirely by volunteers, with no government funding.
Anyone wishing to support / sponsor the team please contact Patrick Renaud at info@banthamsurfing
academy.co.uk.
There will be an opportunity for marketing your brand/logo as an official sponsor of the English junior surfing team, editorials and media coverage, but most of all you will be supporting the future of UK surfers.
Pat and Dave own and manage Bantham Surfing Academy and Surf Coach International.
They both have a good history of completion surfing and coaching and have been privileged over the years to get direct access to some of the world's best surfing coaches and surfboard manufactures, with the likes of Graham Hynes, Spider Murphy, Baron Stander and Shaun Thompson, to name a few.
