A local family-run podiatry business has moved into larger premises, making its services more accessible to the local community.

The FootFix Centre, owned and run by husband-and-wife team Sara and Mike Williams, first opened its doors in March 2024. After successfully establishing the business upstairs at The Anchor Centre, the FootFix Centre has now moved downstairs into the shop that was previously home to ‘A Little Bit Crafty’.

The move represents an exciting new chapter for the family-run business and, importantly, means the clinic is now fully accessible to everyone, including wheelchair users.

Sara is a qualified Podiatrist with more than 10 years’ experience and provides a friendly, professional service covering a wide range of footcare needs. The clinic offers routine podiatry treatment for common problems including nail care, corns, verrucas - including Swift microwave treatment, athlete’s foot, fungal nails and callus.

For those suffering from painful ingrown toenails, the FootFix Centre also offers nail surgery. This is a simple procedure designed to provide long-term, permanent relief from troublesome ingrown toenails.

The new clinic also provides gait analysis, a detailed assessment of the way a person stands, walks and moves. By looking at posture, balance and movement, gait analysis can help identify issues that may be contributing to discomfort and help people take healthier, more comfortable steps.

Another treatment available at the FootFix Centre is shockwave therapy, a targeted treatment that can help relieve chronic pain from soft tissue injuries while stimulating the body's natural healing processes. It can be particularly useful for people suffering from plantar fasciitis, a common and often painful condition affecting the foot.

The move into the larger premises has also allowed the FootFix Centre to significantly expand its retail offering. Customers can now browse a range of footcare products, including bamboo socks, Archies flip flops, foot creams, orthotics and more. The aim is to provide customers with everything they need to look after their feet, whether they require professional treatment or simply want to improve everyday foot comfort.

Sara and Mike are delighted with the move and are looking forward to welcoming both existing and new customers into their new clinic.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our regular patients for their continued support, as well as everyone else who came to see us while we were upstairs,” says Sara. “Moving downstairs into a larger space is an exciting step for us, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to our new clinic.”

The FootFix Centre – Podiatry for All is now open at 3A The Anchor Centre.
