A ‘world class’ roots and blues duo is playing a free South Hams gig before setting off on a month-long tour ‘round Canada.

SP2 is set to play at the Hope & Anchor in Hope Cove for a ‘warm up’ show on Saturday before playing overseas.

The show will start at 6.30pm, on Saturday, July 21 and admission is on the house.

As stated on their website, the ‘world class roots & blues’ musicians, Steve Payne and Paul Hobday are variously described as one of the UK’s most unique and versatile artists.

Paul Hobday, one half of the duo, lived in Kingsbridge for many years and frequently comes back to visit his family, who still reside in the area. He might also be remembered as a member from the local band, Rubber Duck, in the 70s and 80s.
