SUE RYDER, of New Road, Loddiswell, writes: I felt some questions needed to be asked for those people who do not have access to transport to go to another post office other than Kingsbridge's. Ten days is a long time for this vital amenity to be closed. As we do not know exactly what the change will be, except opening hours will be much longer, why can't at least one counter be open while the others are changed? People who rely on drawing their pensions will be stuck, as not everyone has another source of drawing their money. Those from the small hamlets and villages who come into town once a week by way of the Coleridge bus, for example, will be hit. Surely some alternative should be in place, as no doubt this has been on the cards for some time. How about the one counter that is in the old post office be used for the 10 days that the main office is closed? Kingsbridge is the central town of the South Hams, so these vital facilities should be obtainable. It won't affect me, as Loddiswell has an excellent post office, but it will affect a lot of people who can only get to Kingsbridge.
