a new pyramid shaped greenhouse at the junction of Major’s Avenue and North Embankment and requires a balance of some £67,000 for its construction.
D&K vice president, Phil Charlesworth, said: “D&K is very pleased to be able to support local worthy causes such as this for the benefit of the community.
“It is one of our core activities, along with monitoring planning applications and protecting the environment of Dartmouth and Kingswear. We are also playing an active role in the formation of the neighbourhood plan.
“However we need more people to volunteer as committee members. If would like to help us you can contact us on our website: www.DandKsociety.org.uk or join us at our 59th AGM on Tuesday, March 13, in the Clifton Room at the Guildhall, at 7.30pm.”
Chairman of Dartmouth Green Partnerships, Stevie Rogers, said: ‘We are very grateful for the support for the community greenhouse from the D&K Society and many others in Dartmouth. So far, we have raised £33,000 towards the cost of around £100,000. A lot of work is being done behind the scenes to secure sufficient funding to progress this exciting project.”
