VIDEO: Today, in Royal Avenue Gardens in Dartmouth, Dartmouth Players are performing and selling bric-a-brac to raise funds. Bill Hunt of Dartmouth Players commented:

“We are currently recruiting for our forthcoming pantomime Dick Whittington due to be performed December 28th to 31st, 2017 at the Flavel Arts Centre, Dartmouth.

“There are parts for all ages and gender in this fabulous pantomime, packed full of comedy, songs, dances and traditional routines, located in London and Morocco. We particularly need a chorus and a dance team as well as some principal parts. Rehearsals will take place from early September at Townstal Community Hall on Tuesdays and Fridays plus the occasional Sunday afternoon. We have a big stock of wonderful colourful costumes, especially for junior dancers and a choreographer to put the dances together.

"The Dartmouth Players pantomime has been a popular event at the Flavel Arts Centre in Dartmouth, for over 10 years, attracting an audience approaching 700 people. If you have ever fancied performing on stage, pantomime is the ideal place to start. Experience is not necessary as we have the background to train all newcomers and schedule adequate rehearsals to ensure you fully know the part. We would of course be delighted to welcome back old friends who have been with us before.
