Two tiny horses were brought to Royal Avenue Gardens this week by Animal Rescue Centre to help raise funds for the care of elderly and retired horses.
A spokesman for Animal Rescue Centre said: “The two ponies, Princess and Wurzel, enjoyed the day and all the attention they received.
“At the Tea Hut in Royal Avenue Gardens we made a brilliant £922 with fundraising events such as a Tombola and ’guess the name of the pony’ as well as selling amazing homemade cakes and scones made by our volunteers. The money will go towards the care of the horses this winter and improvement in the reserve including planting more trees.”
Ash Rescue Centre is a charity for elderly and retired horses as well as a nature reserve working alongside Devon Wildlife Trust and South Devon Nature Trust to improve habitats for wildlife.
