Takes a young 'un to point out when emperors have no clothes! 14-year-old Kelly Wakeham's passionate defence of her family farm made my day, but all credit to the elected members for listening to common sense.

Ranged against the Wakehams were serried ranks of self-important busybodies, sporting logo'd jumpers as badges of authority. But their nimbyism dressed up as 'concern for the landscape' was not to prevail for once. Such a rare event.

It's nice that district councillors recognise Kelly and her family need to make a living as well as be the real guardians of the landscape. Shame these interest groups don't. Who else do they think will keep the place nice for all those early-retireds and tourists to enjoy for nothing?

Well done done Kelly and good luck to you and yours for the next 100 years.
