ELECTION campaigns for the South West Devon constituency are well under way, with candidates pounding the streets in a bid to be the next representative in Westminster.
Gary Streeter has held the helm over the constituency for almost 20 years.
Mr Streeter has been a member of Parliament since 1992, but has stood for the South West Devon constituency since 1997. His first MP post was for Plymouth, Sutton.
But will the constituency opt for the seasoned MP or choose a fresh face to see them to 2020?
Voters could elect the first MP to wear a turban while sat in the House of Commons.
Chaz Singh, a councillor for Plymouth Drake ward, is Labour's parliamentary candidate.
Mr Singh worked as a funding and training officer for Fata He BME Development, an umbrella organisation for black and minority ethnic individuals and groups.
He now works independently as
an adviser in specific communities of interest in the South West region.
Win Scutt, from Ermington, was selected to stand for the Green Party in May.
Mr Scutt has worked within the local community for more than 36 years, with roles in the Plymouth Junior Chamber of Commerce, in tourism and the Plympton Rotary Club, where he served as president until June last year.
Devon county councillor Robin Julian was chosen to represent the UK Independent Party. Mr Julian, a businessman and farmer, lives in Bideford but spends five to six days a week in the constituency through work.
He has developed a heavy goods vehicle training company in Plymouth.
The Liberal Democrats have selected Tom Davies to stand for the party. Mr Davies is a chartered accountant and a former founding director of an international charity.
He currently works for one of the UK's largest accountancy firms, advising some of the UK's leading universities and charities.
