Sarah Anderson, of Beckets Road, Kingsbridge, writes: Spring is coming. Time to get out in the fresh air and enjoy our beautiful countryside. In the past week, while trying to do just that, I've noted: 1. A more than 10 per cent increase in the annual parking fee at Bantham – presumably the same applies to the daily parking rate. 2. An enormous reduction in the parking spaces on the seafront at Beesands by the implementation of the 'village green'. 3. Bizarrely, a huge pile of mud put in the area at the bottom of West Alvington woods, effectively preventing cars parking by the wood entrance. It would be interesting to know if that area is owned by the landowner or is part of the public highway, and if it is the public highway, who was responsible for the mud. Perhaps those of us who aren't lucky enough to own our own land or a house right on the beach should know our place and just stay at home and watch The X Factor.
