In this week’s Gazette, we lead on a story about the future of the public loos, as decided by South Hams District Council’s executive committee last Thursday.

Pay-to-pee plans will be introduced at six public toilets in the South Hams, while a further 10 could close. However, toilets around Salcombe Estuary have a last chance to be saved from pay-to-pee, as the Salcombe Harbour Board has a chance to make a final recommendation to the executive at its meeting in February.

Our picture story is of Kingsbridge Community College A-level students who took a trip to London to witness the "very best" in the world of design.

Inside, we have stories about South Hams MPs Sarah Wollaston and Gary Streeter and their latest thoughts on Brexit; and an upcoming local benefice that is holding a vigil to raise awareness of gender-based violence.

As usual there will be the ’What’s On’, around the clubs, and ’Village Voices’ sections inside.
