The last two cruise ships scheduled to visit Dartmouth both determined cut short their stays.
Due to inclement weather and concerns about tendering guests from the ship into the river, Regent Seven Seas Explorer took the decision to terminate their visit to Dartmouth on Thursday, September 21st. The vessel remained at anchor for approximately an hour, in order to assess the situation, but headed out for a slow steam to its next port of call, Southampton.
On Friday, September 22nd, the Europa dropped anchor in the entrance to the Dart by Dartmouth castle, as expected at approximately 8am. As a result of a predicted deterioration in the weather, the ship disembarked its passengers as planned to collect them later in the day from the shelter of Torbay.
