Cheques of up to £600 have been donated to a Devon-based charity following a raffle night. On August 20, Ray Ashby of Estuary Lodge in Salcombe donated cheques of up to £600 to Katherine Weedal of Young Devon charity, in their Ivybridge offices.

Young Devon is the largest young people’s charity in the South West.

Donations were made as a result of a recent ‘Ladies night raffle’ hosted by members of Estuary Lodge, along with personal donations including ones from The Ashburton Arms and KD Plant Hire of Kingsbridge.

Katherine is Young Devon’s Project Manager for Plan B, a supported lodging service which finds and trains host families to support young people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

The charity creates opportunities for youths to improve emotional health and well-being as well as delivers a parenting model which enables the young person to become an integrated part of the hosts home.

The proceeds from the event will go towards providing young people with additional opportunities to develop new interests, skills and friendships.
