A Health Promotion and Awareness Day at South Hams Hospital means you can get yourself a ‘Health MOT’ in Kingsbridge.

The Plymouth University Peninsular Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust and Livewell Southwest are hosting a health promotion event on Saturday, October 14, between 10am and 2.30pm.

The event gives an opportunity for people to have a health screen, including checking blood pressure, vision and hearing, oral health advice, a blood sugar and a screening urine test.

Staff will also raise the awareness of head and neck cancer, highlight risks and give information on early symptoms and signs.

The activities will be carried out by students from the Peninsular Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. They will be supervised by staff and consultants from Plymouth University Peninsular Schools of Medicine and Dentistry and Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust as well as nursing staff from South Hams Hospital.
