Elspeth Crichton Stuart, of Brook View, Totnes, writes:
I am shocked by David Cameron’s offer of 20,000 places for refugees over the next five years.
These people have had to leave their homes through no fault of their own and we are a nation who took in 10,000 children fleeing from the Holocaust in 1938 and 1939.
Many people, including myself, want to help by making space available to the refugees.
I ask that people call on local politicians to put pressure on the Government to take more Syrian refugees into the UK than David Cameron’s figure.
