The Rotary Club of Dartmouth have organised a coffee morning to raise funds for the End Polio Now charity.

It is being held on Thursday October 1 at the Royal Castle.

Coffee, biscuits and cakes are available and there will be a tombola.

Wild polio remains endemic in Pakistan and Afghanistan, and variant polio outbreaks threaten the progress we have made against the disease.

As long as polio exists anywhere, it is a threat to children everywhere.

Thanks to the End Polio Now charity 20 million people are walking today who would have otherwise been paralyzed by polio.

If the eradication efforts of Rotary and other partners stopped today, within 10 years as many as 200,000 new cases of paralytic polio could occur around the world each year.
