Bett Rhymes, of Island View, Thurlestone, writes:
If you're in search of some brightness to lift your spirits on these cold, damp, dark winter days, may I suggest a visit to Harbour House, Kingsbridge, which is currently exhibiting a display of works crafted by children from our local primary schools.
From the moment I walked through the door, I was hit by a kaleidoscope of colour.
My eyes were drawn to the multi-coloured, free-standing giraffe, to the vibrant blues of oil-painted sea scenes, to the maze of shades on silk screen prints.
The back wall displays are a stunning patchwork of some 20 large canvasses depicting various Olympic images. These bold pieces of works are of exceptional quality.
It is hard to believe they have been mastered by 10 and 11- year-olds.
Congratulations to the talented children and teachers of our local schools.
You brightened my day and I left feeling 10 degrees warmer!
