SUE RYDER, of New Road, Loddiswell, writes:

How disappointing that Kingsbridge didn’t do anything to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday. The only evidence of this very special occasion was the flower bed display on the quay by the Kingsbridge in Bloom club.

The town council had 12 months had to plan and organise something. I know councils have cutbacks, but surely Kingsbridge could have displayed something to say ‘Happy birthday Ma’am – thank you for your service to the country and Commonwealth’.

The little villages in the South Hams always celebrate big occasions. Surely the main town in the South Hams could have done likewise.
