Cathy Aubertin, street scene manager, South Hams Council, writes: I would like to thank T Ryder Gazette, June 6, for taking the time to write to the newspaper regarding the recent work in Fore Street car park in Kingsbridge. I thought it might be helpful to explain the reasoning behind the reduction in the number of motorcycle spaces. Prior to the work being carried out, our regular monitoring of the car park revealed that the motorcycle spaces were being underused. Therefore, it was considered appropriate to reduce the number available as part of the car park renovation project. We are continuing to monitor the use of these spaces and we can reinstate more motorcycle bays should the need arise in the future. I would also like to thank the residents who recently wrote to the newspaper regarding the swift completion of the work to the car park.The feedback is appreciated and will be passed on to the project team.
