A day of free sports and activities is taking place in September to showcase the work of local clubs and encourage more people to get active.

The Ivybridge Big Event is a festival of sports and cultural activities being held at the Leisure Centre, Youth Centre and outdoors in Leonards Road car park.

The event takes place on Sunday, September 10 from 10am to 4pm.

The day is being supported by Active Devon, South Hams District Council, Fusion Lifestyle, Devon and Cornwall Police, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Ivybridge Town Council, among others.

On offer will be free fun activities for all ages. These will include trampolining, wheelchair tennis, volleyball, boccia, new age curling, table tennis, climbing, gymnastics, frisbee, golf, BMX and lots more.
