THE family of Alex Peguero Sosa have donated a football kit to Aveton Gifford Primary School following a match in his memory.

Just before the half term break, the children and staff were ‘honoured’ to welcome Alex’s mum Janet Peguero, his sister Clare and Tina Graham from Kingsbridge Community College for a ‘very special assembly’.

Tina Roberto, AG Primary administrator, said: ‘They came to present the school with an amazing football kit in memory of Alex, Mrs Peguero’s son, who attended Aveton Gifford Primary School and who very tragically died last year.’

All of Alex’s friends from the Sixth Form at KCC organised a football match in Alex’s honour last summer and the funds raised were used to buy football kits for both his old primary school – Aveton Gifford – and the college.

Tina continued: ‘Alex was a brilliant football player and we know that he would have loved to have worn such a great kit when he took part in the inter-school football matches whilst at primary school.

‘Everyone at Aveton Gifford Primary School would like to say a huge thank you to Alex’s friends, Mrs Peguero and her family, and Mrs Graham for such a wonderful gift. The school team can’t wait to wear it in their next match.’
