KINGSBRIDGE Quay was packed out with over 100 classic cars on Bank Holiday Monday for the Classic Car Rally.

Hundreds of people turned out to see the vehicles, which had travelled from all across the South Hams.

'The day was a great one for Kingsbridge', said David Hanmer, Kingsbridge and Salcombe Chamber of Commerce chairman. 'I would like to thank the participants for turning up with their fantastic classic vehicles.'

The event, originally conceived to open Kingsbridge up for business on the Bank Holiday Monday, is now in its fourth year and going from strength to strength, with children's competitions being run in the Kingsbridge Information Centre by Samantha Short and her volunteers.

The weather was kind and the public turned out in droves, so David said it was 'mission accomplished'.

On behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, the organising committee of Nick Walker and David Hanmer thanked the sponsors who provided prizes, R&G Autos, Tally Ho, The Trading Post as well as their own businesses, Nick Walker Printing and Toad Hall Cottages.
