Fire crews from Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Modbury were mobilised to a report of smoke in Thurlestone Court residential home.

Fire crews were called after smoke was seen coming from the ground floor laundry room of the home in the early hours of Monday morning. When they arrived, there was a “light smell of smoke” and they used thermal imaging cameras to check the area.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire, involving an electrical appliance, was confirmed to be out on arrival. The crews isolated the electrical appliance and ventilated the laundry room before leaving the incident.”
