Coastguard teams were called out after reports of a missing male with concerns of his whereabouts.

The call from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency came after reports of a missing person at Berry Head.

Dartmouth Coastguard Search and Rescue team were called to assist the Berry Head coastguard team along with the Torbay coastguard team, the police and the ambulance service on Sunday, April 8 at 11.03am.

The missing person was found to be safe and well following an intensive search of the coast line involving a police helicopter. Torbay Coastguard team reported the missing person was located in Brixham town by police.

The coastguard team at Dartmouth have also announced the upgrade of their rescue vehicle over the weekend.

The familiar Toyota Hilux which has been used for coastal emergencies for over 20 years has been upgraded.

With a large variety of improvements and changes within the service, the Dartmouth team have been given an upgraded and fresh appearance with the new vehicle.

The Dartmouth team have said the new car has all the bells and whistles expected of a capable and modernising service.

Alongside the new equipment, the team are also looking for at least four new recruits and they urge anyone who is interested to get in contact with the team.
