A cigarette caused a fire in a sofa at Cumber Close in Malborough on Monday night.

Fire crews from Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Modbury, attended a property in Cumber Close after a call at 11.45pm on Monday, May 15.

A spokesperson from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “This was a small fire involving the sofa caused by a cigarette butt. Cushions removed to open air and extinguished. The cause of the fire was accidental.”
