A CAR was broken into in Kingsbridge on Monday afternoon and a purse and laptop were stolen.

Alex Pears left her Renault Clio in the Cattle Market Car Park above the Quayside Leisure Centre in Kingsbridge and returned to find her back window smashed and her belongings taken.

Alex, who attends Kingsbridge Community College, said: ‘They stole my purse, which is black and sparkly, containing my drivers licence, my bank card – which has been cancelled, Boots card, Superdrug card and some shopping vouchers.

‘They stole my school bag which contained my white MacBook Pro laptop, which has a password, and left my school stuff in the car. The bag is a blue rucksack with Aztec stripes in a range of colours around it.

‘If anyone notices any of these, please contact me over Facebook. Thank you.’

The car was broken into between 3.20-4.20pm. The crime has been reported by the police and is being investigated by PC Anna Burnett.

Sergeant Dave Green, Kingsbridge Police, said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses and anyone who saw anything or saw anyone acting suspiciously around that time, or who sees any of the stolen items for sale.

‘Can we remind people not to leave valuables in the car or on show. It just takes the wrong person at the wrong time to see them and take advantage.’
