A woman has had a brick put through her car window and her phone and purse stolen in broad daylight.
Leonie Yeoman left her white Citroen DS3 on Fosse Road, Kingsbridge, at 3.15pm to pick up her daughter from Kingsbridge Community Primary, something she has done many times before.
“I park there every day” Leonie said, “they put a brick through the window and took my phone and my purse, within ten minutes, in broad daylight.”
Leonie said that the culprit then went on a short spending spree in the town, using her contactless card five times in half an hour.
She said that the loss of her phone, and like a lot of us that means contact numbers, photos, videos, calendars and appointments all in one, has made her feel “quite sick”.
The area is usually full of parents dropping off and picking up their children at that time in the afternoon, but a fire alarm at the school delayed parents from returning to their cars, something that Leonie thinks meant there was less chance that “someone could have seen something”.
She says she found the case from her phone just up the road, but says “if I could just get my phone back that would be something, but I think its gone”.
Kingsbridge Police posted: “Between 1515 hrs and 1530 in Fosse Road, Kingsbridge, a white Citroen DS3 had its window smashed and property stolen from within. The owner of the vehicle was collecting her daughter from Primary School at the time.
