Former Ivybridge Community College footballer Paul Wyatt is definitely making a splash across the pond.

He has just become the first player to be named in US football magazine Soccer America's pre-season All-America team.

Paul, who attends James Madison University in Virginia, where he plays either up front or in midfield, was among 25th athletes recognised by the publication.

Wyatt is also ranked number 14 on a list of the top 100 college underclassmen in the country by TopDrawer

Earlier Wyatt was selected to the College Sports Madness preseason All-America Second Team and was voted the Colonial Athletic Association co-Player of the Year.

A team captain and a three-year starter, Wyatt was named to the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-America Second Team.  He is a three-time All-CAA selection.
