THE courts at Dartington Squash and Racketball Club have undergone a major refit, replacing the original floors which were laid in 1962, when the club first opened.
This work was undertaken by Court Master, supplemented by club committee members.
Dartington can now boast pristine courts as the only club not in a town or a city in Devon.
The courts hosted the first Devon League game two days after reopening but Dartington first team were roundly beaten by Kingsbridge losing all four matches.
However, the following night Giles Clayden, playing for Dartington seconds, had the honour of being the first Dartington player to win a Devon League match in a 3-1 win over Paignton’s Ben Petrie.
The courts at Dartington are adjacent to the offices next to the main car park in Higher Close. Anyone wishing to play squash (no other sport burns more calories) or racketball can make enquiries at [email protected].
