The weekend's hot and sunny weather meant that the athletes from Erme Valley Harriers could at last perform to their potential.
The club had three athletes taking part in National Junior league match at Cheltenham as part of the Plymouth and Cornwall team.
Sam Trigg had an outstanding day, not only setting three new personal bests but also two club records.
Sam started the day well by winning the long jump with a jump of 6.27m which bettered the old record by 15cm. Sam then ran the 100m and recorded a new personal best time of 11.5s which equalled the club record.
Finally Sam beat his own record in the triple jump, setting a new mark of 14.32m.
This distance places him just outside the top 10 in the UK, ao was a great achhievement.
Carie Robertson also had a fantastic day, setting a new club record in the 400m hurdles by no less than 11 seconds. This places her fifth in the UK in her age group.
Carie also jumped 1.50m in the high jump and ran an excellent 400m in 61.2s.
Miranda Hardacre ran the 100m and 200m and performed well following her bronze medal in the SW Championship and an encouraging run in the Welsh Athletics meeting at Cardiff over 200m.
This has earned her selection for Wales U18 squad in the Celtic cup, taking place in Aberdeen in August.
Overall the three of them did extremely well in helping the team to equal second place overall in the match.
The remainder of the club's athletes took part in the Devon Open at Plymouth, which featured Olympic athletes from the African countries of Ghana and Swaziland.
Nathan Brown continued his recent good form, winning the 1500m in 4.36.5 just ahead of teammate Luke Honey, who finished in 4.37.2.
This is particularly good as Nathan is in the U15 boys age group, whereas Luke competes as an U17.
Nathan recently ran for Devon in the SW Championships over 800m where he took the bronze medal.
Luke also took part in the 800m and the 100m on the day, finishing second and fourth respectively.
In the U17 100m Jake Abraham won the race in a good time of 12.3s.
