It's party time for Point-to-Point racegoers at Flete Park, near Ivybridge, this weekend, writes Donna Harris.

The popular picnic track is the venue for this weekend's meeting on Saturday, and with over one hundred entries and the weather set fair it is sure to be a great family day out.

Two pony races head the action at 1pm with the main six race card commencing at 2pm.

Full Circle Motors sponsor the Elizabeth May Memorial Members race in which Deborah Treneer's Uncle Keef could head the field having won the hunt members at Buckfastleigh.

He followed this by going on to take the mixed open at Great Trethew for jockey Tom Chanin, beating Come What Augustus by 15 lengths.

In the restricted connections of Takamaru have been waiting for softer ground following her win at Great Trethew, romping home 12 lengths ahead of the favorite Bach On Tow.

She followed that win up with a close second to Deb's Dasher at Treborough Hill.

The Totnes and Bridgetown four-mile mixed open has Faasel seeking a season's hat-trick having scored at Wadebridge, coming home three-quarters of a length ahead of Hunter Chase winner Kirkleigh, and an easy win at Blackforest Lodge when 20 lengths ahead of Betabob.

Others to consider are River Indus, having battled on well to win the Dulverton four-miler last month, the renowned stayer King's Wood and previous course winner Come What Augustus.

Next up is the open maiden 2m4f, but with 27 entries this race may be divided.

Of the entries, Posh Totty came close to winning at both Great Trethew meetings.

In the Rogers of Plymouth-sponsored confined race, Print The Money won a confined at Wadebridge on soft going for jockey Josh Guerriero and trainer Jill Dennis, following that up with a second on good to soft at Trebudannon.

The final race of the day is the open maiden race for four, five, six year olds and over; attracting another 27 entries, this may also be divided.

The course attracts many trade stands from antiques to tack, clothing, produce and gifts. There will be the usual on-course facilities of catering, bar and bookies.
